Knives should always be hand washed and dried immediately after use. Only cut on soft surfaces such as wood, plastic or rubber. Avoid storing knives loose in a drawer or in a block that contacts the sharp edge every time it is removed and replaced. While professional sharpening is recommended twice a year, we encourage our customers to use a honing steel periodically to keep the edge sharp between visits.
When a knife has been sharpened many times, eventually the blade will become too thick and will need to be thinned out. This additional process restores the original blade angle enabling it to perform as intended. If necessary, this charge will be added to sharpening.
Please note that in some cases it may be necessary to alter the original shape of your knife or tool in order to create a new sharp edge.
Not all damages can be repaired, in which case your item will be returned to you at no charge. We do not repair handles.
Other sharpening services not listed are available. Please ask if you have a special item. Our CONTACT form has a link to upload photos for quotes.
